Daisy Craft began as a small, family-led initiative rooted in handmade embroidery, with a powerful purpose: to visually express Kurdish resistance, identity, and resilience. Early works featured symbolic representations such as the mountains of Kurdistan, anti-misogyny messages, and maps reflecting Kurdish heritage and belonging. Over time, the project evolved beyond its original scope, embracing a broader humanitarian vision, using embroidery as a quiet yet impactful medium to advocate for peace and solidarity. This expansion included storytelling that transcends borders, such as commemorating George Floyd through stitched narratives, connecting Kurdish experiences with global struggles against injustice.

Today, Daisy Craft stands at the intersection of art, activism, and sustainability. Its pieces are created on a variety of everyday items—tote bags, clothing, and shoes—transforming them into wearable messages of resistance and hope. A core principle of the initiative is environmental consciousness: many of the materials used are second-hand, thoughtfully repurposed to give them new life. In doing so, the project not only critiques the lasting impacts of colonization and conflict but also models a form of ethical creation that resists waste and promotes mindful consumption.

Through its participation in the Karlsøy Festival, Daisy Craft seeks to highlight the quiet strength of non-violent expression during times of conflict. The initiative aims to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and creativity by offering embroidery workshops for children, activists, and festival participants.
